Katie is one of the most popular Liv Dolls, and it is no wonder. Katie is the liv doll skater. She is the athletic one who can grind on her board better than anyone. When Katie is on her Liv Doll skateboard, she is the most graceful and confident girl around. When Katie is on solid ground though, her clumsy side comes out and she becomes a klutz! This doesn’t stop her from being a top notch boarder though.
Katie can overcome her weaknesses and set a positive example for real girls, which is the premise behind the popularity of the Liv Girl fashion dolls. Move over Barbie and Bratz, there are some new dolls in town! As far as the Moxie Girlz go, the Liv Girls think they are cool. Even though Katie, Alexis, Sophie, and Daniela are BFF’s, they still think they could be friends with the Moxie Girlz.
When parents purchase the liv dolls for their daughters, they will inevitably want a skateboard for Katie. Katie is the Liv Doll that is the skater. Although the other girls can skate, they just don’t have Katie’s natural skateboard ability. Unfortunately, the original Katie comes with an outfit along with a long and short wig – however, this was just remedied with the new doll.
Along with the Katie doll that comes with the skateboard, a standalone skateboard for the other liv dolls (and even the Moxie Girlz) is the tech deck. Tech Decks are actually finger boards which are just doll-size miniature skateboards that you can drive with your finger. I know it may sound odd, but these little miniature skateboards are a hit with boys all across the country, and a bane to the existence of most school teachers!
Coincidentally the tech deck boards are made by Spinmaster, who also created the Liv Dolls. Spinmaster tries to make creative toys that will encourage healthy play and get your child to use their imagination and other skills. They have created, Tech Decks, Bakugan, and Liv Dolls – all toys that encourage healthy play and push your child’s imagination a little further.
You can buy the skater accessories as a separate package. You get two cool skater hairstyles with pink hair or braids. A helmet, water bottle, knee and elbow pads, a board and some other things. Personally I still thing the Tech Decks are much better quality, but at least this is a move in the right direction.
